VLC when you actually wanna listen to the freakin music instead of everything else. WinAmp for the power controls, if needed, which are not.

The Windows Media Player gets more bloated and ugly and annoying every generation. Microsoft spends way too much time ripping off Apple, especially in the ways that dont matter.
Zune is even worse. They are trying way to hard to be "cool" and should spend more time on function and ease.

sndrec32 kicks ass...but it's only included with 32-bit Windows installations :(

foobar2000 and Media Monkey. I use foobar mostly because it's super lightweight and very tweakable. I use Media Monkey because of the amazing ability to get my music tagged properly and renamed the format I like it.

foobar2000 with columns UI. It also has great auto-tagging and rename, don't see why that's so special about mediamonkey.
