Best MUSIC 5.1+ sound card

I'm looking for a good sound card mostly for listening to music.

I have good headphones and a Klipsch Promedia 5.1 speaker setup, so I want a good sound card to complement them.

Right now I'm looking at the creative 7.1 Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series. I rarely game so I'm wondering if there are other cards that suit my profile better.

Any suggestions??

As a reference, my last sound card was an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 (I don't think they sell them anymore). Thanks!

If you want to try X-Fi but gaming isn't a huge priority, the XtremeMusic should be more affordable and still offer you the same music performance.

Those M-Audio revolutions are good, clean music sound cards that don't resample output to 48KHz.

You can still find them online.

Thanks for the suggestions; I'm considering the XtremeMusic. How are the drivers for the X-Fi's? I remember I hated all the bloated software back when I had an Audigy some 6 years ago.

The X-Meridian might be a little overprice simply for music. The X-Plosion or X-Mystique might be better set for him.

And yeah, M-Audio Revolutions are still selling.

X-fi Xtreme music can still be considered for gaming.

I couldn't agree more than to just get an X-fi Xtreme.

Xplosion/Xmystique aren't great unless you use them for digital...which is what I do.

X-meridian is made for analog w/ all the digital capabilities of the other two.
