Best Movie Intro?

Thread inspired by mention of Johnny Cash's "When The Man Comes Around" which was used (quite well) in the season finale of The Sarah Connor Chronicles. It's an excellent juxtaposition, a cheery sounding song about The Armageddon, used over scenes of intense (implied) violence.

It reminded me of this. Probably my favorite movie intro ever.

There's nothing I dislike more about a movie than sitting through 5 minutes of names displayed over meaningless graphics before a movie starts.

ATOT, what movie intros do you love?

I actually loved Romeo Must Die's intro. But then again, as a design hobbyst, I love textophgraphy art and how different movies take creative ways to show credits.

I'm kinda partial to the Inside Man intro. It sets up the whole movie well and is quite.. whimsical. Maybe I'm also partial to it because I watched it a couple days ago 😉

Mr and Mrs Smith had a funny intro...

James Bond flicks? the ones with Pierce all had 'explosive' intros.

James Bond movies were the first ones I thought of. They always had some crazy action scene, generally completely removed from anything else in the plot of the film. I always found it a great way to get into the movie. Then again, the credits go on too long in Bond movies, so that's a strike against...

Kill Bill had a pretty good one if I recall.

Most action movies have a good opening scene. Face/Off, the shootout in the airplane hangar... True Lies, with the tango and subsequent shootout... Are we talking strictly pre-credit / during credit scene?

Fight Club.

Honorable mention to Memento.

Was just going to say Fight Club as well with the "camera" zooming out from the cell level of Ed Norton's body, out his mouth and through the barrel of the gun stuck in it.

Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me was clever with him dancing around naked

Well I was thinking during credits, but a lot of good pre-credit intros have been listed.

you know...that's what stood out the most for me in "Panic Room." The movie wasn't bad, but the first thing that comes to mind about that flick for me was the cool opening titles.
