What is the best mouse/trackball for a bad wrist?

No matter what I use it kills my hand/wrist. I am going to go see a doctor, but would like suggestions.

You can try that chip implant that they just tested on the Chimp... Who was able to move the cursor across the screen by thinking about it.... I bet this would not cause any pain in your wrist.

Usually the cause of pain in your wrist from using a mouse and keyboard can be traced back to the way you're seated. You want to make sure that your desktop is the proper height and distance relative from your body when seated. Make sure your forearm is fairly level with the desktop without any awkward adjusting or strange angles. Have the rest of your arm in a relaxed decending position.

Proper form will help allieviate pain. Also, try looking into wrist rests for your mouse pad. If you still experience pain, then you might want to take periodical rests from the computer to get up and stretch.

Good luck, and I wish you good health and computing =)

get a mouse that fits your hand. i have no idea what your hand looks like. depending on how you do things, you can also get a gel wrist pad for mousing.

A mouse pad with the gel thing to rest your wrist helps alot. If your out of cash you can also use anything that is about 2 inches high to rest your risk like a plastic water bottle. But they do sell these gel wrist pad that attatch to your wrist.

I have been using a trackball, but it seems to hurt my thumb more than the mouse hurts my wrist. I just bought another trackball last night (logitech) but it is going back the buttons are too far back on the device so it is not comfortable to use. I really like the logitech optical mouse, but it kills my hand to use any type of mouse. I broke the bone inbetween my pinky and my wrist about 2 years ago and I think that is what is bothering me. I am going to go see a doctor next week.

What is your workspace like? Does the keyboard/mouse area go INTO the desk at least 15" or so? I find that with 15" between the keyboard/mouse area and the edge of the desk, your arms and wrists can rest on the desk properly.

maybe hes been FAPping it too much... 😀

my mouse is about a foot below and 1/2 foot to the right of my shoulder, so my arm hangs comfortably when i use the mouse, and i havent had any wrist problems.

or you might be using the computer too much.

hehe, firt i'm sure I use the computer too much. Hmm say 10-15 hours a day somedays.

Second like I said above I broke a bone that I think it causing a lot of the problem. I will see this week. I am going to go see a doctor, just worried about if they want to go in and fix it or not. When I broke it they told me if it gave me problems they would have to rebreak it and put pins in it.

Well we will see what the doctor says.
