i have both mx1000 and mx518

The mx1000 is laser, and yes it performs well but the lag and the weight of the mouse really slows me down on fps games. The 518 would be my choice because it is wired for direct response and much lighter with same precise control.

any of the microsoft intellimouse with both side buttons on the left side work fine for me. enough dpi for my needs.

the G5/G7 or mx518/mx1000 are really good too.

If you really want the best in precision and upmost integrity for gaming mice, I would go with the Intelicon Isopropyl Turbo SpeedMouse TYHT2561-1 , from TempCorp Inc. It's their latest attempt at reaching perfection in the mouse world. The updated TYHT technology allows for circumferential analysis of the mouse surface at a staggering 50,000 tritrolopixels. It'll make you crap your pants, without hesitation. I've been working for TempCorp Inc. for the past two years, and I have to say that, out of the 10 mouse components that have been released, this is by far the most technologically advanced. They are really cheap, too, at only $149.99. Quite a bargain for the incomprehensible awesomeness that you're getting, which includes tons of extra features. All aforementioned mice are complete crap. Don't settle for less.

Good lord I could barely stomach the $50 for my G5 when I bought it...

The newest TYHT model is out!?!?! Sweet!!! I have the TYHT1575-4. It's only 37,000 tritrolopixels, but it gets more than the job done. Does the TYHT2561-1 still come integrated with the Zero-Max cooling fan, or was that upgraded as well? I had read in the Mousing Aficionado magazine that, at the time, a few months ago, it would come with a nitrogen cooling system. Is that true?

I have the g5. I have to say its the best mouse ont he market right now. I looked at the razer but the fact that it doesnt have on the fly dpi adjustment is a shot against it for me since I play fps a lot. I also like the weight pack that slips int he bottom. It allows you to customize the feel of the mouse more. The razer has that same kind of thing but you have to open the mouse to add the weights which I beleive dont come with it. If you do add weights to the razer it also voids the warranty.

I don't know how the newest mice compare, but my Logitech MX518 is about 1 year old now & I like it.

Has buttons to change dpi on the fly.

i used to have a diamondback, but after about 5 months it started freezing every so often, so i bought a G5, which is not as good for FPS i think, but I like the mouse and you say you play RTS's, which i think it would be great for. But for fps, id go for a copperhead.

UMMM all razers have on-the-fly dpi adjustment.......and its a crap load easier than logitechs, just hold a side button and scroll, instead of manually clicking up and down on a logitech. So im not quite sure why your leading the OP to think that razer doesnt have the feature  Maybe you should do some more research

I agree, Razer gives you so much more control over your mouse than Loigtech does. There's no question that Razer makes products intended for gamers; Logitech, on the other hand, made some great strides with their Gx line, however I still think they're lacking in software/driver support (although, again, much better than past support).

Price goes to Logitech, they're cheaper, but then I believe the Copperhead to be a superior mouse to the G5, and thus you naturally have to pay more for it.

But given the price/performance, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I think its a just a slightly tweaked razer diamondback, I own the Plasma limited edition one, and i can vouge that its extremely precise with 1600dpi and an infrared optical port. Depends on preference, logitech goes for the more palmy feel, where you grasp the whole mouse and delivers a more comfortable feel. Razer sticks more to the conventional shape of a mouse, but offers performance for gamers, dont get me wrong the Razer still is very ergonomic, it has curves underneath for your thumb and the clickers are also shaped to the grooves of your fingers, made of a very soft plastic almost like rubber. I prefer razer, because when you think of it, your really using your fingers to control a mouse and not as much palm. Try only using your fingers to control your mouse, then try only your palm. Do you see that your fingers are more precise? thus are more required for precise movements. Logitechs mice offer too much palm grip and have no support wat so ever for the fingers, its like 2 thin plastic clickers that are very loud and slope downwards which makes it very strange for me. Whichever you choose your going to have to adjust at first, but the migration to a razer will feel more natural. Up to you, hope that helps.

Anybody agree with my post from earlier?
