Lol, there is no "BEST Oil" go do some UOA's if you want numbers to argue about.
How about Top 5 then?
What i'm thinking is
1. Amsoil
2. Royal Purple
3. Redline
The synthetic oils you see on the store shelves are not true synthetics. German Castrol is a true synthetic oil. You will learn a lot here:

You can find the German Castrol Syntec on store shelves though.![]()
There is an oil analysis tech that used to pop into the forum a lot. He always complained that RP ate up bearings and that Mobil 1 was not consistently weighted from batch to batch. I can't remember for the life of me what he recommended though.
I still use Mobil 1 and if I'm expecting especially aggressive driving, Amsoil with an earlier change.
Really? I didn't know that. How would I be able to tell?
It's marked "European Formula"
Noted. Thank you sir. I shall pay more close attention next time.
IIRC Subaru engines don't like Royal Purple, and Mobil 1 5w30 breaks down quickly. I run Shell Rotella T6 5w40 in the Subaru and Mobil1 10w30 in the MR2.
