edit; I just saw you were asking about the xeon in another thread, to answer that to the best of my ability, Most folks are doing just fine with them on P35 boards.

I picked up a e8400 at the local fry's - they had one left for $225. ended up q745 stepping too. If anyone is reading this and is in the area they have an open box one for 5% off. Personally I wouldn't buy it knowing that it was probably returned for a poor o/c or someone tortured it but if anyone really wants one it's at woodland hills, ca.
