I have an Abit IS7 that's been running strong for almost two years now without any problems. They should be relatively cheap now.

I have used ASrock motherboards before, while they might be cheap; the certainly don't act instable. Asrock is just as good as most of the Tier 1 makers when It comes to BIOS support and overall quality. Just do not expect to find a ton of bundled extras like games and wifi that the Tier 1 guys offer. I am just glad that they choose to make those cuts instead of cost cuts to the motherboard it's self.

This is a great transisiton board, meaning if you want to keep your CPU but want a newer Video Card. $60 is the price of a game or this motherboard, so it's not much moneyu If you want PCI-express and Socket 478 then Beggers cannot be choosers.

LGA's cost similar in price, both their CPU's and mobo's. What's wrong with just selling the 478 pin and using the same DDR?

With all said and done....now you guys got me thinking about the Asrock agp and pcie hybrids. Does anyone know the performance and stability from first hand experience? I remember vaguely reading that it is not recommended as the hybrids arent very good performers.

Best socket 478 mainboards are the p4p800 e deluxe and the p4c800 deluxe.
I have the p varient, and u can enable PAT, which is the only diff between the 2
