I'll be moving out next year, so I'll need to get another wireless router. I really want the 108mbps Netgear wireless media router, which lets you hook up a USB hard drive to use as storage. But the Amazon reviews are horrible, just horrible. So, I guess I'll stick with a regular 802.11b 54mbps wireless router for now. I currently have a D-link DI-524 54mbps router, but I want something different. Sometime extremely stable, with a firewall, that I don't have to tweak or configure or reset or worry about. My old Linksys 4-port wired router was the best thing ever because I didn't touch it for 4 years and it ran GREAT. So, what would you recommend?

Depends on the firmware, but with good firmware I would agree. I am using Sveasoft Alchemy6.0rc1 by the way.

My dad's US Robotic 9106 adsl modem/router/access point has been switched on since January without needing a restart.

My GF's Netgear needs resetting almost every other day.

I have the linksys myself, but I'm just using the "offical" firmware. Works wonderfully and completely stable. What advantages are there to using one of those alternate firmwares?
