I'm sure this has been asked before, but here I go.
I live in Dutch Harbor Alaska, and even our best cable modem we can get is still only about twice as quick as dial-up, I've got a GOOD system ( AMD Athlon? 64 X2 3800+ Processor, 1GB Dual Channel DDR PC-3200 SDRAM 400MHz, 80GB 7,200 RPM SATA w/8MB Cache, IDIA GeForce? 7800 GT 256MB DDR3) I'm Looking for a FUN/SOCIAL game I've played Everquest a lot in my past (before moving to the great white north), and would like something where my connection speed won't lag me to death. Also I'n not sure of which of the current crop of games people are auctually playing, and what games are NEWB friendly,I'm not interested in playing a game where everyone is already maxed out and I feel like a dweeb.

Thanks for you input

As far as I know, no MMORPG out there requires more than dialup speed. If you're referring to a high ping, then you problably won't want to PvP much (eg. World of PvPcraft), since low latency is important for PvP. The only PvE-focused MMORPG that I'm aware of is EQ2 - but that's a Sony game - 'nuff said. IMO, wait for Vanguard.

Thanks Gurck.

WOW works perfectly fine with a ****** connection. My DSL absolutely blows, pings range from 200 to 1500 and its playable from 200 to 1000. WoW and EQ2 are about as "newb" friendly as you can get. Either will be good. Vanguard won't be newb friendly. But its really not all that hard to learn the ins and outs of an MMO. Vanguard also has a LONG ways to go. Believe me.

WoW is completely playable on Dial Up.

Just stay away from Alterac Valley.

EVE Online was build with 56k in mind. Just don't get into a 100 vs 100 ship battle.
