This was actually the first movie that came to mind when I saw the thread title. But it's been maybe 23 or so years since I've seen it. Not sure how it holds up now and I don't really remember much about it--but I know it diddled with my soul a bit.

Too bad the directors cut of Event Horizon will never come out. The scenes where you see all the horror in quick cuts was done that way because it was deemed to disturbing to have longer scenes and they threw away the footage. Then torture porn movies like Hostel and Saw came out, Doh!

Pi is definitely WTF. Love the director but that movie didn't work for me at all. Train spotting is a decent entry.

Identity is fine but too much of a rehash of other movies with the same exact twist at the end, e.g. Secret Window, A Beautiful Mind, Number 23, The Machinist...
