Or "Finding Nemo"...pretty sure I fed those relatives to the hogs.
Tasty, tasty spicy pork.
Tasty, tasty spicy pork.
I felt Memento was gimmicky and implausible.
Inception had a mind f*ck twist? Nah.
Interstellar had a kick-ass twist, but it wasn't really part of the movie's conclusion.
I liked The Prestige.
Of course, The Sixth Sense belongs here.
Too aggressive/in your face for the basement...you know, right?
Interstellar ranks right up there. I also dislike the movie. Not only was the damn audio hard as fuck to hear, but the plot is like -- yeah your image of WTF!
Two old movies I can think of right now are:
City Slickers ("that one thing. That one god damn thing!") Curly had a Bro?! WTF!
and
Day Of The Dead. Did they really take off in the Heli? WTF!

You're really going to say Interstellar isn't "mind-bending?"
I was looking at it as a WTF scenario.
I'm not necessarily looking for mind-bending twists, I'm talking about movies that are incredibly cerebral.
Watch the Eric Andre Show. You'll be WTF'ing about every 30 seconds.
The Mist was better in writing, the movie had a different ending. It was part of Skeleton Crew.Besides 10 Cloverfield Lane. Two other WTF contenders might be Stir Of Echoes and The Mist. I never seen The Mist myself, my Cousin told me about it and it sounderd pretty WTF. Dude in Stir Of Echos was pulling his hair out over the voices. LOL Come to think of it. I haven't seen Kevin Bacon in a film recently.
Donnie Darko.
Memento, as mentioned.
I'll nominate Moon.
Donnie Darko did not age well at all IMO - loved it when it first came out, watched it again last year and it was terribad.
I wouldn't say The Mist is WTFish. It's standard horror trope. The ending is a bit of a shocker especially since it differs so much from the story, but otherwise, nothing that makes you go WTF. Or..it could be I already knew the story so it didn't have that impact. I thought it was a great adaptation to a great story.
I KNOW there are movies out there not mentioned that are like this, but they are all escaping me right now, as most newer movies are simply 1 trick pony / twists.
Here's a few that might fit....
Triangle
Cube
as mentioned almost anything by Kubric.
Pi
Nothing
Enter the Void
Under the Skin
Coherence
Would you Rather?
John Dies at the End
Sucker Punch had me 'wtfing' quite a bit, but I wouldn't say it was good.
Night Watch and Day Watch
Endhiran - Hindi movie where whole movie is WTF badass.
To answer your question about 2010. I recently watched both back to back and did a review in the movies thread. Basically, 2010 on it's own is a decent film if taken by itself. It is in no way as good as 2001, and can seem dated due to the US/Soviet friction that plays a large part in the story, but it isn't a bad movie at all (IMO). It is much more straight forward though, and less wtf, although there definitely some wtf moments as more of the alien aspect is unveiled.
