In their own rights, they are both best, the rest can duke it out for best teenage screams.

lemmy is a metal god. hetfield more than qualified himself before he got old. who did you vote for again? vince neil? geoff tate?

Lemmy is a metal god? LOL, no.

See, Motley crue is metal, bon jovi is metal, Motorhead is Hard Rock. that you can even consider all of them as metal, or Dio or other synth laden bullshit... well, that's just sad.

I voted for Lemmy but i wish i hadn't, i should have started a new poll regarding the Hard Rock singers like Lemmy, Hetfield and so on.

Bon Jovi is not metal.

i can't even count bon jovi as metal when hair bands were considered metal. and they were wearing lipstick and hairspray.

The thing that defines a band as metal is simply "...thick, heavy, guitar-and-drums-centered sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion and fast guitar solos." You got that, you're metal. Sub-genres, such as glam metal, thrash, death, symphonic, etc. take into account things like vocal style, certain types of rhythm, appearance, lyrical topics, and so on.

I do like Dio, King Diamond and Erik "A.K." Knudtsen of Flotsam and Jetsam also.

I guess, if you like disco.

Real metal isn't supposed ot be ...

Wait a minute, Metallica isn't Metal and neither is Motorhead, that's Hard Rock, so i guess neither should be in the poll with the metal screamers.

Sorry 'bout that but he had some real Hard Rock names in the poll.

Go choke yourself!

All the names on that poll are considered true metal. I think you have the definition of "screamer" confused. Screamers are apart of the genre Hardcore, which I hate with a passion.

How about i don't go choke myself but explain to you what the difference between a guitarist and a twanger and a Hard Rock singer and someone who has to scream to sound good is?

This new shit like "hardcore" or "softcore" refers only to porn and metal, two genres of whish Hetfield and Lemmy will not be a part of.

I believe that Lemmy himself said that Motorhead isn't Metal and that Hetfield agreed.

But sure this new shit, that is death, trash, dirt, speed, elbow, badubam, dubudam and every fucking name they can come up with for metal.

Just don't confuse that noise with Hard Rock.

Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves, Britains never ever ever will be slaves.

I am not really sure who appointed you as curator of all things rock and metal where your 'classification' is the correct one, but if you are going to be such an ass about things, maybe you should spell check your sig. I would think someone serving in Her Majesty's SAS would know it is Britons, not Britains.

To get back on topic - of the singers you have in the poll, my preference would be Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford and Phil Lynott (in no particular order). I have seen nine of the listed singers live at some point in time, and can honestly say that not all of them came across that great live (IMO).

Some other singers that I would like to mention as being worthy of consideration - Lajon Witherspoon, Glenn Danzig and Ian Astbury.

Son, you are teaching me sarcasm, let me teach you about reading, read my post above, it's metal but it's not Hard Rock like Metallica and Motorhead.

So no, my friend, you are not daft because of that, you just can't read and understand.

But it'd take you to look up the ONLY fucking song i like by Maiden so i can sit here listen to that way to late in the night, right?

Well, son, this is a debate forum, everyone gets to post what they think, so i did that, that is no rule that you have to follow though and nothing you even have to give a shit about, you are welcome to disagree, just like i was welcome to give my opinion.

And i refuse to call Britains Britons, take a wild guess why? Quick guess, "i'm like teh suave and nice gentlemen who has his head up his arse and doesn't really know shit"

Am i rite!

Metallica is definitely metal, it's just that Hetfield is hardly a great singer.

Metallica from kill em all until and justice for all is definitely metal. That's why they named their first album "metal up your ass" until the execs made them change the name. Black album and after is debatable. I voted Phil Anselmo.

edit: oh and GWAR are metal gods. nobody takes them seriously, for obvious reasons, but they damn well shred. i now nominate oderus urungus best metal singer ever.
