Best Memory for this setup

Don't mean to hijack this thread but I have a question about memory & overclocking.

I am planning to get a C2D e6300 along with a Biostar tforce 965p (can't find the deluxe worth my life). I can't decide what speed memory to get. Everyone talks about DDR2 800 but some people mention DDR2 667.

I don't plan to overclock overclock much. I will prolly try 2.8ghz.

I am leaning towards corsair xms2 but can't decide on the speed.

Thanks,

With this setup and targeting 2.8, you need DDR2 800 (PC6400) rated ram. The e6300 has a 7x multiplier, so you will run at 7*400 Mhz to hit 2.8 and this equates to DDR2 800 speed ram.

Corrected it for you.;) The E4300 has a 9x multiplier, Sephiroth, and 9x333=3.0 Ghz.

Thanks for the info. You guys have given me some food for though.

So if the e4300 has a 9x multiplier, why do they even make the e6300 with a 7x multiplier?

Both of them have the same amount of cache, right, 2MB?

I've been out of the game for a little bit but I also wanted to confirm, regarding overclocking these processors, its just as simple as telling it to keep the memory speed the same & then raising the FSB to 333 on the e4300, right?
