estew33, can you be a bit more specific about your computer utilization? Are you going to overclock? Gaming and more....

DDR3 high end ATX= MSI GD70
DDR2 high end ATX= DFI 790FXB M2RSH- the others have an excess price.
790GX Micro ATX= Biostar's board.

I've been eyeing that DFI mobo ever since I came across a PII X4 940. I'm working with a gigabyte 780g w/ sb700 mobo (ga-ma78gm-s2h rev1.0) right now, which is probably holding back the OC and not leaving any room for adding a second card for crossfire. But I'm happy with it now as is and thinking it would probably be better to hold off for a more serious upgrade in a few generations (and when I have more money, lulz)?

I'm still figuring out how to play the upgrade game in an optimal way 🙁

Edit: I guess it would also make more sense to see where AM3 goes instead of trying to milk the AM2+ platform?

I've tried the GIgabyte 790x based board, the asus m4a78-e, and the biostar ta790gx 128.. The gigabyte is overall the best so far with the biostar second.

I picked up the MSI 790FX-GD70 recently and just absolutely love this board. It's been a while since I've had an MSI board, my previous two where Asus which were rock solid but once I saw the MSI I just couldn't resist 🙂

The blue and green LEDs on the board and the red LED fans in my CM scout make the whole thing look like a 747 cockpit 🙂 The OC dial is really slick. Great attention to detail all around. Gorgeous looks.

If I can find time I'll try to post a review on it once I've thrown everything I can at it. In the meantime if you search for it there are some reviews already.
