Anyone have any advice on the best motherboard for an AMD 2500? I've seen great reviews of the Asus A7V8X-X and the Asus A7N8X Deluxe v2, but I'm open to other suggestions. If it helps, I'm a first time computer builder, and will be using my system for video editing.
If you can find another 50-75$ to add to what you plan to spend already go with a P4 system since they are significantly faster for video editing and encoding.
EDIT: If you are already set on AMD then it's all about what features you want, the 8RDA+ is a great price/performance board@85$ shipped from Newegg, and the Abit NF7-S is a fully loaded overclocking powerhouse@124$ shipped from Newegg.
Ewww...Gigasuck... WTF is up with that add on power ciruitry on their overpriced, albeit feature packed, POS? An extra 3 phases on a seperate card...with active cooling? No thanks..
Edit:
I second DAPUNISHER's advice on the 8RDA+ or the NF7-S Rev 2. 🙂
I've been thoroughly impressed with Soltek since starting to use their NF2 boards and they match my needs perfectly but to suggest it over the 8RDA+ which has a very similar feature set and is less expensive@ the moment is just pure, blind, brand loyalty 😉 Had the 8RDA+ been less expensive than the 75FRN when I purchased I would probably never have given Soltek a chance.
