Thinking about putting together a TB 1.4 GHz Sys. What are the best MB for this CPU?

Oops, wrong forum...meant to post in/under Motherboards.

Sorry 😱

people say the Iwill boards, but others the Abit's.

i myself would love a board that doesnt have that sh1tty onboard sound. so go abit

I've good luck with Abit BE6-II MBs with Celerons. I'll check them out.

Thanks

Abit boards have been consistantly the best for me. I have the Iwill also and it is also a good board, but took a little more tweaking to get to the same speeds as the Abit. 🙂

undercover, what does Silver Hydrolic case w/automatic sliding front door mean? Does the door slide up, left or right?

get one that will allow you to use DDR ram, they cost as much as SDRam and goes double the speed. Iwill and ABIT currently doesn't have DDR boards, well Iwill does but with a crappy and slow ALi MAGiK chipset. Get EPoX 8K7A, cheap, fast, quality, and good overclocking. Otherwise get Gigabyte 7DXR for $50 more, that board is better, looks nice(blue PCB), and is an even better overclocker!

I'm not sure of my ability to do the lead pencil trick to overclock AMD Athlons. Is buying one alread OCed a good way to go? I've read a number of post about people zapping their CPUs doing this.

Smokeball,

When you press the button at the top it automaticly opens. Like a sliding hyfrolic door. it's very cool 🙂
