Hi - Let's say i want to create a document with notes for fx Chemistry or physics, and I wan't to be able to write mathmatical equation fast + i want to be able to combine them with illustrations drawings.

Why type of software wold be best for typing math or chemical equations fast?
I guess microsoft word is the best place to store all the equations, text and drawings into one document?

I'm currently doing this search on behalf of the wife. She pointed me toward MarvinSketch for Chemistry, but that is something that runs through a non-free software platform. I Googled and found THIS, but I have not yet installed it for evaluation.

Have not yet begun the one for Physics.

The only thing that comes to mind is MATLAB, but that's really more geared towards doing the actual computation behind it, not just typing it up all pretty in a text doc.

Maybe try Excel? There's tons of math/science formulas built into it, and you can easily copy/paste into Word to retain formatting.
