Best malware scanner?

i have been using windows defender for years, never had an issue

edit: but i also use firefox and an add blocker. so much malware comes from ads
 
I scan everything I download with virustotal.com, Avira free, Malwarebytes free and hitmanpro free. I use Avira free as my real-time AV.
