What is your favorite all time live Heavy Metal album?

Mine is a tie between:

Ozzy: Tribute
&
Iron Maiden: Live After Death

Nothing and I mean nothing will ever beat KISS: Alive for best live Rock/Metal album. Great songs + great energy = incredible show/album.

Yeah...that's why they've sold more albums than any American band and are second to the Beatles in number of gold albums.

In February 1980, their singer Bon Scott was found dead in his car (he had a drinking problem). Brian Johnson, a former singer in the teenie-band Geordie joined them. In April and May 1980, AC/DC recorded the album Back in Black. They sold over 12 million copies of it worldwide (number 3 in UK, 6 in the USA).

Up to the year 2000, AC/DC have sold about 85 million albums worldwide. Their last album Ballbreaker (1995) was a (minor) success too. The singles Hard As A Rock and Hail Caesar rose to numbers 33 and 56 in UK. Their new album Stiff Upper Lip (2000) is their first studio album in more than four years. Today, the band is composed by Brian Johnson, vocals, Angus Young, guitar, Cliff Williams, bass, Malcolm Young, guitar and Phil Rudd, drums. They still rock hard and loud, with their distinctive mix of rhythm & blues and rock 'n' roll. Stiff Upper Lip is a solid album, but as often with AC/DC, most of the songs sound more or less the same. Their fans will still like most of the tracks. With Meltdown, House of Jazz, Give It Up, Safe in New York City and the title song Stiff Upper Lip, almost half the album is above average, on the level of the best songs from Ballbreaker.

Now, how much has KISS sold ?

AC/DC was inducted into the Rock&Roll Hall Of Fame, was KISS ?

AC/DC is still producing albums, is KISS ?

AC/DC still tours, does KISS ? (On a regular basis)

If this thread wasn't about live Albums, Back in Black would be right on top!

are we talking metal or hard rock?

i kinda consider AC/DC and Zeppelin to be more pre-metal(both obviously helped pioneer metal)

1. They will be

2. Studio or Live?
Studio = Psycho Circus 1998
Live = KISS Symphony: Alive IV released in July 2003

3. Last tour before current one 2000-2001

I'm having trouble finding worldwide sales info for KISS. All I can find are press releases by Mercury Records saying it's over 80 million or over 90 million. Guess it depends on when the release came out.

On a seperate note .. Angus Young should have been MUCH higher on that Bullsh!t Rolling Stone 100 Greatest Guitarist lists..
Rolling stone is the biggest piece of crap mag. on the face of the planet...

They will be is not an answer 😉

When was the last album they they wrote and not just rehashed old songs ?

AC/DC still writes fresh songs for thier albums, they don't reissue old albums.
