I decided to build up a new system to go with a new 7970 come Monday. I'm going to use the 0% financing option from Tiger Direct so I'm limited to the options they have available.

Here are the options I was considering:
ASUS P8Z68-V LX : 129.99 (119.99AR)
Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3 : 134.99
GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 : 139.99
MSI P67A-GD65 B3 : 169.99 (139.99AR)
MSI Z68A-GD65 (B3) : 189.99
ASUS Sabertooth P67 B3 : 199.99

Link to all LGA1155 MBs:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...74_68338_68338,

Here are the rest of the components I'm going with:
Intel i5 2500k
AMD 7970
Corsair TX750M
8GB DDR3 (will decide specific one after the MB is settled)
Crucial M4 64GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 3TB
Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
Coolermaster HAF 922

I was drawn to the Sabertooth P67 and P67A-GD65, but am open to anything. I don't think I need the Z68 features, since they seem unnecessary with a GPU and I'm intending on using the SSD for the OS, but am not opposed to Z68. I'm probably going to do just a mild overclock since this is a 24/7 system, top priority is stability and reliability.

Let me know which one you would pick given the options.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: For now I won't be running a Crossfire setup, but may do so in the future.

A Z68 board is not a bad option. If something ever happens to your GPU you can change the BIOS back to the i5 on die GPU while you get the card RMA'd. It's a nice feature to have.

I'd go with the ASUS P8Z68-V LX price/features are nice and ASUS does have amazing warranties.

I decided to go with the Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3. It seems like a quality board and the price was reasonable at 140.

Now I've ordered everything, just need to wait for them to ship. The processor is supposedly on back order even though it still shows up as "in stock". Will see how long this takes.

I decided to skip the hard drive since prices are absurd right now, I did switch to a 128GB SSD though.

Here's my shopping list:
i5 2500k
Visiontek 7970
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3
16GB Corsair Vengeance PC12800
128GB Crucial M4
Cooler Master Silent Pro M850
Cooler Master HAF 922 mid-tower
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
ASUS Bluray Burner
