Best LCD Monitor?

I currently have a no-name 19inch lcd, the contrast and everything else are decent but nothing special. I'm thinking of getting a better(image wise) lcd. It doesn't have to be HDCP, but I would like to spend under 300$. Got any recommendations?

The Apple LCD's are the best.
Samsung LCD's are excellent quality and this is my preference.
BenQ is also good.
In Europe, I believe their preference is for Eizo.
