Best Laptop OEM?

I'm considering looking at a laptop because of all the traveling that I do for business, and was wondering what you guys recommend as a good OEM. I don't plan on making this laptop myself (is that even possible?) so I wanted a good reliable manufacturer. My only real requirements are good service/support and some degree of customisability.

Edit to the requirements - I need something reasonably fast, MAYBE [if possible] be able to play some games on it. Nothing too intense, maybe HL2 at med. settings or something.

Can laptops be overclocked?

it'll probably cost the same as desktop.. notebook video are usually cripple of their big brother... wait for dual core notebooks with faster video options.

I'd say go with IBM or Dell. Centrino based with a decent graphics card. Should work out well

I buy whitebooks from ASI. If u can find a local reseller that uses them. ASUS,Quanta and Compal shells
It's only like $100 for a nice 3 year warranty

I've used a HP/Compaq Pentium-M laptop at work and a Compaq tabletPC w/Pentium-M, (neither of which I own) and they're both pretty good as far as battery life and size go. If I were to buy one for myself, I'd probably also consider the Dell Latitude series. I'm not too clear on the difference between these and the Dell Inspirons, but they seem to be smaller (the Inspirons are almost desknotes, they're so big).

if you want to game count ibm out all there stuff is integrated as far as i know. i would look into sager/pc torque.com. they would have a laptop that your looking for. sager and prostar use the same notebook shells. i believe they are clevos. which alienware does the same. depending on your budget high end would be alienware 7700m or dell xps or 9300 then i like sager / pro star. some name brand computers like compaq or hp ive seen go6600 vid cards in them which wouldnt be to bad. i wouldnt go for integrated or x300 ati card is all.

Agree, check out Asus, some of them are customizable to your need, otherwise try alienware, but it cost more than average.
