Best lappy for the money (price/performance)

I can get an asus s96j laptop w/ a core duo t2500, x1600, 1g, and 80g hd for $860.
I also can get an alienware m7700 w/ an fx-60, a 7800gtx, 512m ram, and a 100g hd for $1200. Which one is a better deal?

The best deal right now for a Mid-range laptop is this one, Link I just got one myself.

the graphics options are very limited on that one, but great deal, im lookin for something i can take to lan every once in a while.

leaning toward alienware, anyone else with some wisdom?

My biggest concern would be the RAM. The 512MB in the alienware system is really low, especially compared with the rest of the system.
