I am looking for any multiplayer lan games that I can get to play with my girlfriend. The catch is one of the systems is a stone age laptop (256 mb. ram, 32 mb. graphics, 800mhz. duron cpu type computer deal). I put Windows 2000 on it so it runs win 95-98 and dos games like a charm. She doesn't like the fps genre too much and isn't a hardcore gamer by any means so anything that is easy to hop into (i got her playing doom 2 with me though:D) Even like word, card, or puzzle games would be cool.

So I tried Warcraft 2 and 3, Doom 1 and 2, Unreal Tournament (comp. not fast enough), Worms 1 and 2 and SimCity 2000 network edition. Any other fun classic lan game suggestions to play with my non-gamer girlfriend on a slow laptop?

Alpha Centauri (Civ like) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sid_Meier%27s_Alpha_Centauri
OpenTTD (Free Transport Tycoon clone) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenTTD
Diablo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diablo_(video_game)
Fragile Allegiance http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fragile_Allegiance
The early Command & Conquer series, my pick of which would be Red Alert http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Command_&_Conquer:_Red_Alert (Now apparently freeware, links on Wikipedia)

At a push, Crimson Skies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimson_Skies_(video_game). It says 8mb graphics, but I have doubts whether laptop graphics of the era will manage it.
If there was ever a game that needs a modern remake, that's it.

I remember Crimson Skies! She might really enjoy that and the transport tycoon type games. I love Quake 2/3 especially but she isn't too good at WASD strafing, crouching, sprint combos. She likes building things on the computer but didn't enjoy warcraft 2 too much?? These are great suggestions. Any other one's?
