The only KT266 motherboard out to Date that I'm familiar with is the MSI K7T266, but it has had some probs and new revisions of the motherbord should be out early July next month I hear from Viahardware.com. I hope some companies make some more motherboards base on this chip. It looks promising. It is the chip that I'm most interested for my new sys. There is a RAID option, but I tihnk it is 5 PCI, not 6, and the RAID version comes with an AGP Pro, instead of 4X. Have fun ^_^.

The only KT266 available is the MSI................
WRONG WRONG WRONG.

Thers is the Soltek 75DRV and the Gigabyte 7VTX both been out at least 6 weeks.
Neither of them have any problems.
THE MSI BOARD DID A GREAT JOB FOR ALI & THE 760 FANS< TARNISHED THE CHIP BEFORE ANYONE ELSE RELEASED A BOARD BASED ON THE KT266.

Shuttle and DFI also have very good KT266 boards on the market now after their latest bios releases. I am having excellent performance from my Gigabyte 7VTX currently, in fact it is outperforming my Asus A7M266 at like settings. :) Just about convinced that I did not need another 7DXR at this time. The Gigabyte has 5 pci slots though but has full overclocking capabilities except for CPU voltage (have not missed it so far). Go here for some further information- Link

Actually, I don't know if you're also refering to the Msi, but it did has probs over at Hardocp.com with Ram as a matter of fact. Did fine at Hothardware.com though. Anyone know if Abit or Asus plans to release a KT266 motherboard?

Great thank you very much, possibly in July then, since that's what Viahardware claims when the revisons will take place. Thanks a lot Bingo13.

thanx for the replies and best wishes do any of the kt266 boards have 6 pci slots and full overclocking capabilities??? i really like the 8k7a however i would like more bandwidth for the pci bus seens how its always being used for mutiple things more often than not and im betting or hoping next months new kt266 based mb will be much more or even just more competitive with the 760 based boards.

I have a MSI K7T266 Pro and it is running flawlessly. My system is performing equal or better than 760 boards and I haven't crashed for a few weeks now. Solid board and I praise MSI for their commitment in helping customers work out their problems. They have been creating new BIOS files that improves stability and performance each time. From my experiences with ASUS and ABIT, I get better customer service from MSI by far!

Hey, go to Viahardware.com, Abit is introducing the KR7, read my post, it has 4 dim and 6 PCI I think. Looks awesome, oh yah, it will also run on the KT266. I'm hoping for it to launch in early July.

Here are 2 articles on the Shuttle AK31 KT266 chipset mainboard. One of the articles says their review sample has the new revision chipset. I've got an AK31 on the way. When I get it installed and running (Friday) I'll post results.

It will take at least a months, maybe more, until boards with a revised KT266 chipset are in retail in USA. If you wait another couple of weeks more, you can have a SiS 735 board. They will probably not only cheaper, but also faster. The internal transfer rate is 5 times higher than with the KT266 chipset. In theory andin the first previewsm these boards lool very promising.

After having a Gigabyte 7VTX for about a week I would highly recommend this board, extremely stable and great performance. I guess the latest news is there will not be a new chip revision but VIA completed a new board layout and bios changes to deliver the upgraded performance levels.

The 8K7A is an AMD760 based board, not a KT266 based board. If that's really what you're asking about, then many people on this forum can attest to its stability and how easily it overclocks. It's a great board for the money ($135) right now, but if you wait a month or two, you'll see SiS 735, revised KT266, and be able to get a glimpse at the nForce motherboards. If you can be patient, I think you'll be able to get much better performance for your money.

No I Think he is bdyeager is reffering to the 8KHA, that does have the KT266 chip, looks pretty good, there was a site with a review for it, but I don't have the link, do a dearch for it at Google. It looks good. Anyway, I can't wait so I'm buying the Msi K7T266pro, looks great, Pc2pc, good bios, speed. Good luck.

The 8KHA is not an Amd760 motherboard, it is a KT266 motherboard, like AppleTalking said the 8K7A is the Amd760.

here is a link to the epox-8kha motherboard review.

review

I like it because it has 3 phase power (unlike epox 8k7a and MSI K7T266 Pro) which should work with the new palominos should I choose to upgrade in the future. At least that is what I have read. This is along with good performance, stability, PRICE etc....according to the article. If the power thing does not matter, then I would go with the MSI board based on the reviews I have read. But the shuttle looks rather appealing as well.

Finding the perfect DDR mobo is tough. =) Frankly anything is probably better than my unstable P3 450 Gateway...but I want the best darn it!
