i have a epox 8kta3 mainboard since 5 days and im impressed!!

it´s stable as my msi kt7pro2a and now i get my duron to 1120 mhz with 8*140 mhz!

i dont have onboard raid, because i dont like onboard promise or highpoint (urgs) controller.

the epox 8kta3 is a great board!!

"i have the K7TPro2-A and its just as good if not better than the new Epox. i also got mine for $110 w/ 2nd day air <---found it on a website (2 year warranty). besides the fact that its about 40 dollars less, it also has the exact same specs as the epox, but thats just my 2 cents."

sorry, thats bulls*it 🙂

the msi kt7pro2a (i have one 🙂 has the KT133 chipset, the EPOX 8KTA3 (i have one 🙂 has the KT133A chipset.

try running a duron with 140 MHz on your MSI board, it wont even boot 🙂

getting msi k7t pro2a and abit kt7a-raid with 1 and 1.2 ghz cpus. will be here tuesday. should be fun. will post how things go.

GO AJUMP.COM best price at pricewacth.com on Abit KT7a

The Grim Reaper:

I'm ready to spring today and buy the Soltek SL-75KAV! Don't wanna wait for the MSI K7Turbo.

You've got it. Any regrets? Should I go ahead and take the plunge? Misery loves company.

Will the new KT133A motherboards require the new thunderbird chips with 266MHz bus or can you change the multiplier so I can run my 1000/100 at 1000/133??

After reading a lot of reviews, i think that the Abit kt7-raid is the best one for o/c. (this is what i intend to do after i received it in next 3 bus. days)

So far I haven't had any problems with my SOLTEK 75-KAV, but I've only had it since saturday so..

But I'm pleased with it. I'm particularly fund of the overclocker bios settings such as bank interleave and all the voltage tweaks.

whats the major difference between the 2 chipsets?? anyone have an idea what the cost of the new kt133a mobo from asus, abit and msi are/will be??

Gothmoth,
How did you get your Duron to run at the 133MHz bus speed on the 8KTA3? When I tried that with my Duron 750 and the 8KTA3, the motherboard wouldn't even POST. The diagnostic display just showed "FF" right away and nothing else happened. I had to change the "100/133" jumper back to 100 to get the board to boot again.

I tried higher core voltages (up to 1.8V) and that didn't seem to matter.

The Grim Reaper:

Well, I just ordered my Soltek SL-75KAV mobo -- so I might be asking you some questions in a few days. Good luck with your tweaking till then.

skriefal

mhm, nothing more then putting my alpha cooler on it, setting jumper for 133 MHz, change fsb to 140 and giving the cpu 1.8 volt.

it runs just perfect (now for 6 days).

sweetca:

You are an idiot! Your K7T Pro2A has the same specs as the Epox 8KTA3???? Yeah except it has a different chipset you dumbass!

Remember when two different web sites reviewed the best mobo based on the KT133 chipset?
One liked the Microstar Pro2a, the other preferred the Abit KT7 Raid. So can I pressume that each will provide a mobo based on the KT133A chipset of similar quality?

I really need a new mobo and it's so hard to wait. I'm using my p133 and I need more speed.

Can't wait... need more speed... getting weak... must click on reply button before I pass out........................................................................

I plan on waiting a while before I upgrade boards. Have a KT7-RAID right now which has been working flawlessly for me, but I wouldn't mind having the extra boost in performance. Of course, the only reason I'm waiting is cause I don't have the money right now.. 🙂

Got this in my email:

Special Message From Soltek - USA Distribution :
Dear customer -- your order is confirmed. With reviews like "This is the fastest board we have EVER tested" and revolutionary technology such as auto-overclocking, the Soltek SL-75KAV is possibly the hottest board on the market right now. We are currently sold out but have another shipment in transit from the factory which will be ready to ship to you in about one week. This shipment is also selling fast, but we have reserved one for you.

Sigh!
