best kid-protection software for these days?

running Windows 7. never used kid protection software before... i do remember names like CyberPatrol... what should i use?

I know this works well, but it requires you to install it on a server that the pc would then access the net through.

You could also try the freebie Windows Live Family Safety feature, and just allow access to sites you've whitelisted: http://download.live.com/familysafety Among other things, you can manage it remotely and your kid can email you requests for approvals.

I setup cyberpatrol for my family once and it worked well... that was for XP and was nice though.
