Best keyboard/mouse combo- Microsoft or Logitec?

There's the Logitech® Cordless MX? Duo on one end and the Microsoft® Wireless Optical Desktop Elite on the other- which one would you grab? The Logitec pairing has a mouse that can recharge while the MS mouse has this tilt wheel technology and needs batteries... also, the MS keyboard appears to have more features than the Logitec counterpart. Lastly, the Logitec duo has been in the market for a while (which it won many awards), and the MS product is a new entry. The prices between them are about the same. Any opinions, people?

Much Thanks.

Well, the Logitech MX700 mouse that comes with the duo requires batteries as well. It comes with a pair rechargable AA batteries, but any AA batteries will do.

If you haven't already, I'd definately go to a local store (if possible) and try out out the combo(s) before you buy. I tried using the Logitech MX combo, but I just can't get used to the heavier feel of wireless mice. However, alot of people on AT use the MX duo and love it.

Thanx for the response, BlueWeasel. But to add to your comment, are you saying that you could use any brand of rechargable batteries on the Logitec mouse and it will juice up when placed on the charging dock? If so, that's pretty neat...

Yeah Neba, the Logitech mouse uses regular rechargeable AAs and will charge while on the base.

I like the feel of the Logitech mouse better, and the layout of the keyboard. I am ordering it in the morning for myself after looking at both brands last night in the stores.

It depends what you want to use it for. Check out www.tomshardware.com. The MX has the best speed/accuracy. If you're doing any gaming, go with the MX line. If you need quickness in music editing, go with the MX line. Otherwise it's metsa, metsa for basic office work. Still I believe the MX's have better/longer/lighter rechargeable batteries.

Thanx for all the informative replies. Has anyone tried MS tilt technology? Is it a gimmick? I heard that it's now really easy to accidentally depress the button!
