best keyboard ever?

I've used my ms natural kb 1.0 for the last 7 years and thought it was the best thing ever....then I noticed something, when I use the new dells at the school, my typing is miraculously 10 times faster. so, I want to get a normal keyboard. IYO what's the best normal keyboard out there right now (for a reasonable price). I'd like to find one like the dell ones since they seem to work so well for me.

I noticed the same thing too.
I learned how to type on a natural, and I use a natural on my home computer but I type faster on a normal keyboard.
I'm going to get a normal keyboard before I go back to school next Fall. Probably a Dell quiet type or a logitech of some sort.

I actually like my dell laptop keyboard the best out of anything out there. The key presses just feel right with good spacing for me. Never really liked desktop keyboards, certainly none of the newer plastic ones. I have an old clicky northgate keyboard (steel bottom) that's alright to use, but I still like my laptop keyboard better.

I really like the Logitech keyboards. The keys are nice and soft, and it was extremely quiet over my old Dell's keyboard. I could type easily at night in my dorm room without waking up my roomate (yes, the typing was THAT loud before the Logitech). They also have cool buttons you can program that are really handy

Dell quiet key (sorta quiet I guess), but I miss my notebook keyboard. Springy keys, yay. Anyone know where to get a regular keyboard like that or who makes one?

I loved the old IBM clicky keyboards, but I have been using my MS Natural 1.0 for around 5 years. It's funny some of you mentioned typing faster on regular keyboards, I find it easier to go faster on the natural. I guess it depends on the person.

when i gotta use the 2nd machine, i hate it. that regular keyboard pisses me off. It feels .. un-natural.

Holy cow, I've been looking for a laptop style keyboard for desktop! I like that quiet sound.

Over the years, I tried other and always returned to the original 101 IBM Model M. A few years ago, I bought 3 more from my employee's surplus store for spare. I have not need them yet. They are still commercially available from The Keyboard Store, $49 plus shipping.

I love my Logitech iTouch Cordless keyboard, one of the best keyboards i've owned. Can't quite get used to my laptop keyboard yet tho!

I think maybe the reason I have so much trouble typing on a natural keyboard is that my hands are tiny and the keys are very far apart on the natural

I love my old school Logitech internet keyboard... not the new ones with the soft keys... the older ones with the harder keys.. my favorite board to type on. my 2nd favorite KB is the $7 mitsumi ghetto special (what I have here at work) .. i can type great on these.

Keytronics' stuff and Dell Quietkeys are the next best things.
Odd note: I can type faster on a basic cheap Gateway keyboard.

Im torn between Keytronic's Lifetime series and those old heavy-as-$hit keyboards.

Gonna have to go with the Keytronic's though, they're so damn easy to type on.

but I am slowing becoming a convert of the new key layouts for Microsofts keyboards, with the triplet F-keys w/ F-lock...much better redesign than the 'Elite' products were.

I'm on a Dell QuietKey at work, its a matter of time before I bring in an older Gateway keyboard from home.

What ever happened to those awsome Gateway-2000 (original name shows the age ) keyboards with the extra set of F-Keys on the Left side of the keyboard? I loved those too

we use belkin's at work (which i'm typing from right now) and they suck so much. make sure you stay away form them.

at home (and i eventually conviced my father to get one too at his place) I use the logitech cordless digital combo which has the souped up cordless itouch keyboard. it's pretty sweet. For a cheaper one though grab a cheapo logitech, if you don't like it return it try a cheapo microsoft, and the process goes on. really thats the best way to go about it, keyboards are very different especially person to person.
