I'm wavering... even if just the CF worked, this would be a pretty good deal for me. Still, better safe than sorry, I think... i'd love to hear if anyone on this thread has a positive experience with it.
the card reader comes with a cable that is too short to be used on alot of motherboards especially the asus boards. it seems to be designed specifically for ecs motherboards. this should be taken into consideration before purchase. although it is a good idea the engineering team behind this hardware really screwed up. save your money and pass on this purchase.

Heh, look closely at the ratings - there are supposedly 2 comments, but only one shows up (the one that gave it 5 stars). Since the average is 3 stars, the other guy must have given it a single star, and got censored out... Funny thing is, the five star review actually says the thing is crap.

I picked up a SanDisk 6-in-1 external USB2.0 reader at CostCo ($29.95) and it's *much* faster than either the card reader built into my printer or the direct USB 1.1 connection to the camera when I use it to download digital pictures from a Lexar CompactFlash card. Maybe 5-10 times as fast.

The problem with the SanDisk is that it does not work on USB 2.0, as advertised. It will disconnect randomly after a period of time...

I have the Sandisk and haven't had a problem with it. It's way faster than my old 1.1 readers. BTW, the 6-In-1 is somewhat misleading in that it won't read Microdrives. Sandisk counts CF I & II seperately.
