You know why this is a bad joke? Because the funniness/word is like crap. While it may be good and I read it too long ago, there are more concise jokes that may not be as good, but the funniness/word is decent. Thus this is a case of an inefficient joke.

ahem, from page 15

Story -

Joke -</blockquote>

The story is the joke, goof.

edit: what tha heck, the quotes are broken again, my post and the one above me is borked

It's only page 15 if you have your settings at default. I'm reading this on page 5.

Not an unnecessary bump but a legit question: anyone know the origin/author of this story? My friends and I call it 'Nate and the Lever of Doom' (yeah, I forwarded it to everyone I know😛). I'd really like to check out the author's other works. I just tried to look it up but found nothing.

I think that's a bit like asking who the first Nigerian scammer was  I tried finding its origins a couple months ago, but all I could find was that it was posted and forwarded all over the internet a few years ago, no word on where it actually came from, not that I could find anyway.

Cliffs:

Really long drawn out story with lots of unneeded desciptions and weird situations to build you up, then a stupid pun at the end to close it all.

It's a classic "build you up and you laugh because the end is a sham" story 🙂

It was a great read I read it long ago all of u sayin "2 long 2 reed zomg" GTFO and go to skool where they be teachin u how to read,

Ok I must've been on crack when I wrote that because I don't remember reading anymore than the first paragraph. I read the joke in its entirety and I have to say it's an INEFFICIENT JOKE.

I was actually a bit annoyed that I spent a good chunk of the last hour reading this. Then I said the nate than lever sentence out loud and I started cracking up... Hah. Oh gosh.

This was a well written story, but seriously, what the hell. If that's all I get from the ending you should be punished OP.

I saw this thread title and thought to myself that it wasn't going to be better than the "Better Nate than Lever" joke I read a couple of years ago...

I can't believe this thread was bumped.
