I think the whole shitty punch line was the point of the joke. It was dragged on forever making you anticipate this hilarious ending, but in the end it gives you some crappy line. I think it worked great here. Love the story. 🙂
 
Wow, that killed time at work for sure.

Id give it about a 7/10, it would get an 8 or 9 if it was condensed.

And it definitely can be condensed, just cut out what Jack does before gettin to Nate, and replace with a paragraph.

not that great of a joke, but I have never heard that line before.

I laughed twice, but nothing heartily.

Will not recommend reading the whole thing, but I will probably recite a short version of it.

9. Now waste the 15 minutes saved by not reading the joke
 
Wow. Is the OP a grandfather? Mine used to spend hours telling my cousins and me stories like these, with the always expected horrible punchline at the end. He used to give us a Perugina chocolate bar if we could guess the punchline.
 
Holy fvck dude, I read what I thought was most of it then realized I was nowhere fvcking near close to the end, I had only read like 1/3.
