Best job you ever had?

worked at a convience store part time when in college. Always had friends in there to talk with. Got to know many people around the community just by seeing them everyday at the store. Pay sucked as it was only $6.25/hr though.

Best Job: Controls/Automation Engineer - really fun projects and lots of toys! 😀

Worst Job: Controls/Automation Engineer - after working 3,400 hours IN PLANT this year and it's still not enough for the "higher ups" and not appreciated one bit! 🙁

P.S. Both Best and Worst are the same job. It's just evolved into "not fun" because of expectations....not because of the job itself.

Looking for a job now....*sigh*

my first job...head projectionist at a movie theatre 13 years ago. the pay sucked but it was a great job with lots of benefits.

Back when I was really into paintball, I worked as a paintball ref.

The owners were great, treated us all well, and it turned out to be one of those jobs that you were surpised you got paid for.

Two jobs come to mind when I was younger:

Failed dot.com - multimedia search engine.

Country club as a waiter/banquet waiter.

Good times

Fun: Courtesy clerk while in high school at a local grocery store, one of my friends also worked there. I've never laughed that hard in my life

Best: Working from home part time living the American Cyber Dream 😛

Fun: Tech support for Time Warner cable while in highschool
Worst: Tech support for Time Warner cable while in highschool.

The pay was pretty good, especially for around here@ $7.75 an hour. The problem was, the fat person calling you(Eating while on the phone) and complaining because their porn PPV was not working is only funny the first few times you heard it that day. Then it just gets old. That and about three months into the job, half the people working there seemed to quit... so the call volume went up and the fun went down. Then I quit. Funny how that works...

If money was not an object, I'd go back to installing closets (i.e. California Closets). I really enjoyed doing that. Every situation was unique, every situation presented its own challenges, and it was fun and challenging trying to find a way to make the designs that the retard designers came up with work. 🙂

Delivery driver w/ partner. Partner was my buddy, so we'd alternate driving & sleeping in the back of the truck (we both worked 2nd jobs and the sleep was very, very welcome).

The one I'm at now. I just got a 20% increase with a 20% bonus. yeah!!!! but its very stressful........life goes on.

I really like my job now, it's probably one of the best I've ever had.

Though I did like Verizon after they told our whole department we were getting laid off, in 6 months!
We did absolutely nothing for 6 months on end, and got paid overtime for it.

Best: Product Expert for Future Shop. I get awesome discounts on electronics, computers, etc, my bosses are easy to work for and very forgiving, and I get to help clueless people with no knowledge of computers pick out something they want. Rewarding job.

Worst: Working for my dad's company on a summer internship. Massive Excel spreadsheets, tens of thousands of lines long. Couldn't stand working there. Got fired 2 months in. All I did was nef all day 😛

Where did you work? Half my family has/had worked for AT&T, Bell Atlantic, Nynex, Verizon during the last thirty years. From the poles to being a rep to working in a CO.

My first full time job right after college. I was very much run my own show, the boss was handed off, as long as I did my job, I was free to do whatever I like. Good benefits too <free health care, grad school paid for, etc.>

The reason I left after a few years was I wanted more money and they didn't want to so I left after two weeks notice.

Now I am wondering if I made the wrong choice...LOL.

My current job. I work at a really laid back media/design firm. We work on really high profile projects for tv/film studios in LA. Since there was no work this week, we had rubber band wars and surfed the web all day. Today, we just sat around, drank leftover champage, and watched the UCLA football game.

Most fun: 3 summers & 1 winter as lifeguard on So Calif beaches.

Most interesting: Doing all the stuff it takes to win new business. Exciting, dynamic, turbulent, exhilarating to win.

My current job, best overall satisfaction I've ever had. Nice company, great team and atmosphere whilst doing programming. 🙂
