"best" job search website(s)

let me qualify what i mean by best.

what site do you have most experience with, that has landed you a response after you applied for a job?

i know that websites aren't the best way to find a job, but that's besides the point. i want to prune all the sites that i have membership with and maybe add a few that yield positive results that i'm not a member of yet.

Monster & Dice have kept me employed for the last 5+ years. 😀

CareerBuilder is another - never looked at it.

Many local newspapers have their own version for position filtering.

Almost all will notify you via e-mail if a match of keywords shows up. 🙂

I've had very close to no success with online job searching and I've used them all, sent dozens/hundreds of resumes, and was qualified for many positions and yes my resume was good. I basically hate those things because they are nearly useless it would seem. The stats on their success rates are very poor also.

Monster.com hasn't done jack for me.

Dice.com- I've had some inquiries but no interviews

Flipdog.com- I've had some inquires and some interviews.

Flipdog is just a search engine to get to the job posting on company websites. But the idea is really cool though.

I haven't had any luck with job search websites either.

never had luck with monster, had none butfriend got his job through hotjobs, got a response from careerbuilder, never used dice, used a couple other sites that never landed jack. (didnt have many jobs listed either)

i must be one sorry-ass candidate... i'm part of ALL of them... but in over a year, I have only recieved one response... and i have been told the resume is a good one.

i guess my horrid bad luck offsets the overall good luck you people have been getting...

...and so goes 'round the universe... 🙂

I dont know Im still unemployed.

A lot depends on what they are looking for. High specialized skills are easier to get a positive response then generic everyday skills.

When I went shopping, I would get about 30-40 calls from head-hunters which boiled down to 6-8 contacts (interviews) and 2-3 offers.

Admittedly (as stated in first line) I have skills that are DOD specialized and cross-trained.

To all - check you local unemployment office (even if you are still employed). Companies will post positions with the state.

hotjobs.com is worth checking out. Also computerjobs.com - I remeber when I could find 2,000 + computer jobs in the Denver area during the dot com boom on computerjobs.com, now there are about 35. Dem were the good ol days.
