Jack Ryan: I'm here to rent the Huey.
Helicopter owner: We don't rent it anymore, but it is for sale.
Jack Ryan: How much?
Helicopter owner: Two million dollars.
Jack Ryan: Uh, my pilot and I will have to take it for a test drive.
Helicopter owner: Of course, you just have to leave a deposit.
Jack Ryan: How much is that?
Helicopter owner: Two million dollars.
Jack Ryan: Umm...
[Shows a CIA business card]
Jack Ryan: Would you take a company check?

"Verify range to target."

"One ping only."

HFRO. Saw it at the theater in 1990 at the midnight showing with a few others. Love it. Own it in 2 formats. Laserdisc and dvd.

lol. The "What are you going to do, knock on his door?" is almost as good:).

Addition: Rainbow 6 would have been an amazing movie. It's the only Clancy book I've read, and its good, minus the ending. Oh, and crazy environmentalists as an enemy might not work that well. I thought Paramount bought the rights to it a few years back.

Patriot Games is too personal.

Red October is good, but it's a bit slow/suffocating.

Sum of all Fears ain't bad at all. A city gets nuked, how doesn't that sell itself. Only problem is Jack Ryan's a loser, low level here. Oh and Neo-Nazis? Guess no one has problem with dem evil nazis. Can probably mad lib a million stories with that enemy...

Well the Sum of All Fears was the first Jack Ryan novel. Sort of like Casino Royale and Bond. It was his beginning, which turned out to be a pretty darn good movie.

I don't think that's correct. I grabbed this from a Clancy website a long time ago and confirmed it myself after reading the books over and over.

If I remember correctly, the movie SOAF was marketed as being a prequel to all the other movies. Whether it really was and whether the novels had it that way is another story.
