Under what criteria? I don't think there is any actual "best" in all catagories.
Range. Best range.

My apologies for not making that clear.

Something that is wireless AC in the 5Ghz range? For future proofing...

I've had decent results from Amped Wireless AP20000G, 2.4ghz/5ghz and it has good/great range.

Review here

By far the easiest and most reliable AP i've used is the Airport Extreme from Apple which has AC and good range on N. It can be extender/AP/router. AC range is not good no matter the device IME. If I were to build a wireless network for home or small office from scratch it would be a solid router plus 1-3 Airport extremes depending on area to cover. These are self healing and ridiculously easy to setup and maintain for anyone with iPad/iPhone/Mac at the location.

Well, that's different. What's your budget?
I like "under 70€" but the lower, the better.

There's no such thing as "future proof".
Well, "current proof". Something right now without 802.11ac wouldn't really make sense unless the price doesn't justify it.

Ive heard awesome results from Amped Wireless as well just like I heard about Ubiquiti. Ubiquiti is a bit more expensive. Also Amped Wireless isn't available world wide.

If you want AC, you'll be paying for it. Unifi AC AP is about $300 US Personally, I'd wait another year before going with AC so they can work out some lingering issues with it but that's just my opinion. My vote's still on Ubiquiti Unifi. I use them all the time for projects and have one in my house, work great.

Then there it is :) The price simply does not justify it.

The long range UAP-LR version costs 74,00 €. The "shorter" range UAP-PRO costs 180€. The UAP-PRO also supports 5Ghz
