And I had a short UIN too.

Anyway, I'm in need of a new instant messaging network - so how's MSN, AIM, and the others?

Which software is better - especially seeing as I have some contacts on MSN, and really don't want to use elevnty billion different programs.

If you have multinetwork contacts, check out Trillian or GAIM.

but for me, I just use DeadAIM + AIM.

AIM is the most popular, use it with Trillian or Gaim, hell with them you could use any network you wanted or all at once

All of a sudden, yesterday, my password stopped being accepted. It's not like I changed it, or forgot it - it's not a forgettable password.

I've forgotten the answers to all the recovery questions because it's something like 9 years since I set them up.

It obviously depends on where he lives.

For the US: it's AIM

For most of Europe, it's MSN, but some UK people (where Mark R apparently lives) use AIM.

For most people living in Asia, it's Yahoo!.

It's upto you, Mark R, because obviously it's your contacts, and there isn't any cross network chatting natively (though I heard AIM and ICQ merged networks, I could be wrong)

Luck you :(

What version are you using? Mine is still hovering around 8mb with usage... I'm logged into MSN and AIM with about 40-50 contacts online. Only two chatting though.

I upgraded from 1.5.0 to 2.0b2 in hopes of having fewer crashes and less memory usage. Note that I use it for IRC on ~12 channels, two or 3 of which are fairly busy.
