I don't know much about IDE Raid controler cards but I am looking to looking to buy one. I have a maxtor 15 GB 7200 RPM 100 Ulta ATA and I am thinking of buying one more. Then I want to slap them on a raid controler card in a 0 or 0, 1 config. . Anybody got any ideas which is the best card for this job. Thanks

The best is a hardware solution, see Storage Review for a review of a couple. You can get a cheap one too, like a Promise card or a HighPoint based model. A search will find many posts about these. Consenses says you probably shouldn't bother, but it's fun to play with I think

But, if you are really serious about performance, get a SCSI drive. Serious about RAID, maybe an IDE solution, but there are lesser expensive SCSI cards that can give you some safe and solid RAID.

promise card.
If you want a cheaper solution, get the promise ata-100 card and mod it yourself.
