Best IDE Layout for home DV editing?

I've recently purchased a Dell Dimension 4500 and will soon start some DV editing using Adobe Premiere. Below is my current setup. Any recommendations on how I should configure my system?

Current Setup:
Primary Master: Western Digital 60GB 7200 HD (Windows XP, Program Files)
Primary Slave: Western Digital 120GB 7200 HD (Video Capture, Storage)

Secondary Master: Memorex DVD+R/RW Burner (must be master per manual)
Secondary Slave: Samsung CD-ROM

I did a little capturing and had some dropped frames, so I think by changing this setup I may be able to improve the performance.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought I read somewhere about having the main HD and the capture HD on seperate channells? Is that not the case?

I'm running a nVidia GeForce2 GTS Video Card.

Yes, you do want to set up your primary on first IDE and second hard drive on second IDE. All non-linear video editing systems are setup this way. Or you can also get a SCSI hard drive.

If you are willing to purchase a PCI IDE Controller card, you will benefit. But from the default two IDE channels, you should not mix Master-HD and Slave optical drives.

Ditto all of that. Keep the opticals and HD's separate. I can say with some certainty that with your setup, you should see zero dropped frames. Your master/slave combination should be more than enough speed for capture. Could be a problem with the DV setup, or perhaps the source.
