Best HSF

I know I have seen this questions a thousand times but the answer is always different. What is the BEST HSF for $50 or less that is not a pain to install. I've tried the volcano II and decided its a piece of crap. It only gave me 3 or 4 C. I'm still running 57-58 idle. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

The TaiSol CGK 760092 is a very good and quite sink for about $35~40. You might want to specify if noise is too much of an issue. If it is, this is the best for you.

No noise is not really an issue vs. cooling and ease of install. My wife already claims that with 2 PC running multiple fans that it sounds like an airport.

my recommendation right now is the Golden Gate (aka Gladiator) from this site.

you can get it w/ the 38 cfm delta for $24.98 shipped. you can't beat the price and it is tops in performance.

If your wife thinks your computers now are an airport then one with a Delta fan on the heatsink will be a rocket launch pad. I have nothing against them, they are just really loud and some people can't stand their whinning.

The previously mentioned Taisol and Gladiator are both great hsf's. I would also look into the ThermalRight SK6 w/ Delta 38cfm fan and the Millenium Glaciator. They both run about $40-45. The SK6 is pretty loud since it uses the Delta, but the Glaciator is pretty quiet with the fan they include. Hope this helps.

i like the thermalright sk6 and the globalwin cak38, i also really like the new zalman 5000 (but uses the 4 holes in the motherboard that are around the cpu, so you need to take out the motherboard to install it)
