Best home router for gaming/torrents

I've been waiting for the WNDR3700 since they announced it at CES. 64MB of ram, 8MB flash, 680mhz cpu.. sounds great to me. Possibility of being upgradable to final N. A friend contacted Netgear and said to not expect it before June, which at this point isn't a big deal. That said, it IS draft and I'm hip to the idea of picking up a cheap G router in the meantime until all that's sorted out. I don't really need G or gigabit until I get FIOS anyway (which might be a few years).

What do you think of these choices? I need a home router/switch/wireless device and these appear like they'd do the job well. I'm mainly looking for good gaming performance with 2 or more PCs attached.

The Buffalo is $60 shipped on newegg today, and the Asus is $78 shipped. I like the additional ram on the Asus but the Buffalo seems to have great wifi (which I care less about) and an amazing reputation. I see no need in spending a lot when this router will be handed down to someone else in a year or two.

Thanks!

It's funny you posted that because the whole time while I've been waiting for replies I've been reading reviews across the web and searching out this forum. I think I've read every single thread mentioning the Asus V2 and Buffalo routers. I went ahead and ordered the Buffalo, it has half the memory but it's a stop-gap solution for me, is a bit cheaper, has a ton of people saying it lasts for years and goes a long time without rebooting. The wireless range makes it far more useful for when I pass it down to a family member (most of whom have a WRT54G ~V.5). Not to mention the stock firmware is solid and I have no reason right now for all the Tomato / DDWRT features, but it's nice to know I can use it as-is or update it later.

I'm tired of waiting on that Netgear and just wanted something cheap that will last until N is finalized, then I'll buy another router. I'm also thinking that new Netgear with the fast CPU ect could run a little hot... might be wise to give it some time on the market.

The Buffalo seems legendary online, I found a lot less chatter about the Asus. Seems as soon as the Buffalo came back to the market everyone forgot about the others.
