Been there, done that wrt water cooling. Had a bad experience, that was entirely my fault and entirely preventable in hindsight but I'm not eager to go that route again.

Right now I'm running a C2D 6550 on an EVGA 680i motherboard with the stock cooler but thinking of upgrading to a quad at some point in the future. For budget and weather related reasons I want to improve my case's cooling now before I set up to a new cpu.

I saw this thread asking a similiar question but it veered into exclusively watercooled solutions from the first page.

So.. What HSF should I grab?

I was thinking of this blingy, thermaltake product.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835106123 Kind of expensive, but I don't mind if it gets the job done. Still, cheaper is better. Noise is not a huge concern, I'll just turn the volume up on whatever game/movie/music I'm playing 🙂

My money is on the AC7 Freezer, or if u wana splash a bit more and not too bothered by the amount, CM Hyper 212. Thats a very sexy HSF and seeing how its one of the 1337est u can get in my country its like WOW if u have 1 🙂

ThermalRight Ultre Extreme 120 was the best you could get when i built my rig in November, don't know if anything can match it yet?

hey dont forget pcz vendetta 2 i say this is a monster fan
its like 29c today
and my vcore is 1.4 and my clock speed was like 4.0 ghz (from 3.0 ghz a 45 nm core 2 duo chip)
and still on stress test it leveled down to 60c 😱

i would recomend this to any one i dont care what others think about my fan
