...because no one answered in my other thread in Peripherals, despite 41 views.

I'm just looking for the absolute best headset for games. Music is another high priority but gaming is first. I need some recommendations, so far I've come up with Sennheiser PC 155 and Plantronics DSP 500, but I feel like there's something better out there.

I guess I should add that the thing you seem to be missing is the importance of the rest of your hardware. There are many people who would tell you that you'd be better off with $100 headphones and a $30 headphone amp than you would be with $300 headphones and the output of a Sound Blaster.

If you're really interested in "the best" you should be looking around an actual audiophile forum like head-fi.org.

Some of the good gaming headsets:

- Sennheiser PC160
- SteelSound 5H
- Icemat Siberia
- SpeedLink Medusa 5.1

i use sennheiser hd555's they are pretty much the best value you can get out of the sennheisers with amazing sound and simulated 3d. but thats just it, its simulated 3d, you can get multi satilte headphones as well which would create a better 3d sound. however although a little spendy (i think theyre 150) id reccomend the hd555s as one of the best all around headphones. had a friend who bought the logitech ones with a headset and the sides that your ears go into and he cant stand wearing them for over 2hours or so, they hurt so much. these are incredibly comfortable. hope this helps and u find what youre looking for!

I'd go with Sennheiser PC150's, since they don't really require a battery, and sound great either way :). Or the PC155's.

I just mentioned in someone elses thread, that if its for gaming, I'm going to have to go with the Plantronics DSP 500. I won it in a gaming tourney, and I can here LOADS more footsteps than I used to be able to. It really gives you the jump on other, especially in Source. Good luck with your purchase.
