The dust-bunnies are beginning to procreate, so I think it's time I purchased one of these.

I noticed at Wallyworld they have decent selection, one Black and Decker 7.2v for $28 seems to always be sold out.
Any suggestions?

cordless?

if you don't mind the cord, the dirtdevil platnium series vac is ok. it works pretty well, but if you want more power, the Scorpion is one powerful sucker.

Got me. I've only owned the stand-up kind.

Cord doesn't matter. I have cats so this would be easier than using the standup's tube on the furniture.

I bought a Scorpion from Target a few months back (~$25 regular price, IIRC) and well, it works well for vacuuming out the car and spot cleaning. It's decently powerful for the size and easy on the wallet. 3-year Dirt Devil warranty.

The only thing I don't like about it is the dust filter dirties quickly and even after shaking it off over the trash and lightly patting it down, it doesn't really get clean. Plus it's recommend that you don't get it wet so I'm guessing a replacement will be due every couple of months.

I got one of those 600W Shark vacs at Home Depot for $16. They are very powerful and work well but they overheat really easily.

You can only use them for quick jobs.

Yah- I won't ask why you have 9 cats, but that's another topic.;)

This might be the model that's always sold out at Walmart. Looks good.
