list of the places and where I ate it

In N Out (Southern Cali area)
Five Guys (DC area)
Lucky's (NYC area)
Shake Shack (NYC area)
Fuddruckers (nationwide but still good)

Of these:
For fries, In N Out wins
For the burger, I'd give a slight edge to Shake Shack in NYC because it tastes unique and has its own flavor.

Red Robin is really good, I'd say their seasoning salt that they give you makes the best tasting fries. Their burgers are pretty tasty too.

Sacramento:
If you don't mind a gut-bomb it's a tie between Squeeze In and Willies. If you have a no-gut-bomb requirement then Sam's on Auburn Blvd.

SoCal: Never found anything that topped In n Out, but I was only in the San Bernardino area.

In the Milwaukee area there is a custard place called 'Kopps' that is incredible. In my town we have a drive in called 'The Spot' that makes some of the tastiest greasy burgers you can imagine.

Louis's Lunch in New Haven Connecticut. Definitely the most unique burger place I've seen.

The World Famous Beacon Drive In. Located in Spartanburg, SC. Best chili cheese burger you could ever eat. And their onion rings rock too.

My personal favorite. Although no trip to LA is complete without a trip to Fatburger...

Fuddruckers - I like there thick burgers. Most fast food places the meat patty is to thin for me. I like a burger with some pink in the middle. With a thin patty it is cooked all the way through.

someone that has never tried Burger King, McDonalds, or Wendy's is HARDLY qualified.

Burger King is clearly the winner as his burgers come out fast, are tasty and he can bone playmates and other's wives without repercussions.

Gotta love the Whopper or the King will visit you and kill you with a lead pipe. That Ronald video was a fake. He is too afraid of fire to do more than fry his burgers....pussy.

Red Robin and Fatburger are awesome.

Also mentioned in this thread, Farmer Boys, they make wonderful burgers.

For more traditional chain fast food places:

Wendy's
Bakers's
In 'N Out
Tom's

In that order.

In N Out is not just socal, it's up in norcal too. I usually order 2x cheeseburgers, sometimes 2x double double if I'm hungry as fuck. I never order their fries though, it's epic fail. BK whopper comes in a close 2nd.
