Thats why I linked the Guru review along with():)
To me its totally worth it.

I was really attempting to keep under that £200 barrier, I was hoping for something around £180. Also that graphics card becomes around £210 with shipping.

You're more likely to find the temperature reach 80C much earlier than you can increase the voltage that high, but I agree, I wouldn't go past 1.2V or so. My 560 Ti SOC at factory settings runs at 1000MHz/1.012V, and reaches 80C in Heaven 2.1 :<

Why would you choose a 570 when it has basically 1/2 the amount of vram, runs hotter, uses more power, and generates more noise?

The 7850 is indeed the best card at $250 and under.

The one he linked was £180 (but on pre-order). Are you in NI or a offshore for Scan to charge you £30 for postage? If you are on the mainland, you can get free postage if you have enough posts on hexus or avforum but that's not instant of course.

Fan boys and price aside, can someone just tell me which one is better, the GTX 570 or the HD 7850. If you are willing to take overclocking the 7850 into consideration, also do it for the 570, making sure to keep the drivers in mind. Also if current games don't require something, don't bother mentioning it, such as the amount of VRAM on a card. I know this is a lot to ask, but I'm researching both of the cards and some people say one is better, and some say the other is. I would like to thank everyone for their support so far and I hope you can assist me with this final query.

its real simple. the average 7850 has tons of overclocking room where the average 570 does not. at a typical oc for both cards, the oced 7850 will at the very least match an oced 570. on top of that the 7850 uses way less power especially if both cards are oced.

Ops! Sorry, clicked on the wrong link...

Re. your previous post. While I wouldn't spend more than £100 personally on card, I'd go for 7850 since the 28nm advantage is quiet a bit (cooler, modern features, less power & heat). 2GB is also not a just a hypothetical anymore since for instance Skyrim with user mods can use a lot of RAM. I'm boycotting Nvidia (bad 8800GT etc.) but if you want to go green at that price I'd wait for 660 because it seems silly to spend that much on a 40nm power hungry card.

It seems I will be getting the 7850 then, and unwillingly I will be getting the MSI R7850 Power Edition as it apparently has adequate cooling for OCs. Thanks a lot for all your help everyone :)

IMO, the dual-fan Asus/MSI/Sapphire cards have adequate cooling. I don't know enough about the power edition to say whether it is worth that extra cost. My Sapphire card reaches 1100 core without a voltage bump (1.075v stock). I'm sure I could push it quite a bit higher if I wanted.
