GTX 1060 3GB is just about the only card you'll find in the $150 - $200 range in this crypto currency mining market. AMD cards aren't worth mentioning not for performance but for availability. They're just not there if you need to buy right now.

It looks like even those are increasing in price:

GTX 1060 3GB (lowest price of $215 After rebate at Newegg) are now the price GTX 1060 6GB cards used to cost.

......and it looks like even the GTX 1050 Ti is inceasing in price a bit:

(Lowest price for GTX 1050 Ti is now $140 after rebate. GTX 1050 seems largely unaffected though)

Reading this thread, it sounds like it's a very bad time to have your VC go bad. Which happened to me today (Radeon 7850). Sigh.

How would a person know when the cryptocurrency has crashed? I would think that once the price crashes, then there will be a flood of used, reasonably priced cards on the market.....which might bring the new card market back to earth. But it's quite possible I don't understand the VC markets and how they work.

I'm really thinking my best bet might be to buy a really cheap VC (sub-$75) and wait until winter. Coincidentally, I had intended to upgrade my entire system in January.
