Best gpu for I7 3770 ? non K !!!

simple question .... what a gpu is the best for I7 3770 ? i mean what a gpu cna handle i7 3770 if i want 90-100% gpu load ?

for example ... GTX 670 in sli ? or gtx 660 ti in sli ? or i can even handle gtx 690 ? or gtx 680 in sli ???

note : i have I7 3770 ... so i can't overclock .... but cpu can run up to 3.9 ghz ....

thank you all ....

No bottleneck on my 3770k at stock clocks with my SLI 670 FTWs. It wouldn't bottleneck 680s or a 690 either ,btw.

w/ stock clock on 3770k, mild(+50 core) OC on 670s

Loving the 670s so far(though I have OC'd my i7 to 4.5mhz) Havent found anything that trips them up. Only paid right at $800 for both vs $1000+ for SLI 680s or a 690.

This is a stupid question. Get whatever you can afford, nothing in your system will be a bottleneck if you spend 300+ on a gpu

yes ! but some people told me that i will get lower vantage score ;/ i don't care but they also told me that on my i7 3770 i will get 65% usage on games with 670 sli ;/

brandon888, you are not getting it.

The GPU does not really get bottle-necked by the processor. A task (like a game) can be limited by one or the other.

In over simple terms the CPU keeps track of objects and the GPU paints pretty pictures. If you play a game where the CPU must keep track of a lot of virtual characters (large teams of combatants for example) then the CPU could become a bottle while the GPU might have it pretty easy.

OTOH if you are playing a game with only a few characters that are running around in a really pretty picture, that is going to stress the video card and the CPU will have it relatively easy.

Finally a 3dMark score consists of both CPU and GPU benchmarks combined into a final score. Improving either part will improve your overall score but only because it is a combined score not a pure graphics benchmark.

one more point why im asking ....

gtx 670 on sli with i5 3570k on 4.4 ghz .....

look at gpu and cpu score ....

lakedude

yes dude .... maybe i just can't see whole picture 🙂 it's my bad i know .....

im just wondering ..... for example if i add another gtx 670 to gtx 670 .... will it give 10-15% performance improve on my i7 3770 ... or it will give me solid 60% + like gtx 670 sli have to give me 😀

i hope you understand what i mean 😀

dude .... i said ... my friends told me that 670 in sli will not work 100% with i7 3770 .... i mean not on 100% load .... they say that 670 in sli will work like on 65% with 3770 .... ;/

i just wondering , how close it is to the truth ... nothing more ....

if it is a big problem for you ... i will close this thread .... no problem and no offence

I dunno what you are trying to ask honestly, I will take a stab at it though, SLI GTX 670's will not bottleneck your 3770 in games, 3770 will not bottleneck your SLI GTX 670's in SLI.
You care about synthetic benchmarks for what reason? You bought the wrong processor if you are wanting to score huge in 3dmark with a giant benchmark score. Your CPU will not be at 100% in 90+% of any game out there. Your GPU's will go up to 100% if you are in SLI playing BF3 at Ultra setting. Please keep it to one thread, no one is being rude to you, just be patient.

That CPU won't bottleneck those cards. It might be an "issue" in Battlefield 3 64 player, but that's probably it right now. By issue I mean minimums being slightly lower than, say, a 6 core 12 thread CPU.

You can overclock that CPU a little. Bump up the turbo multiplier by 4 bins, I believe all non K's can do that. That'll push you to 4.3 GHz single core max, 3.9 GHz four core max. That's just to ease your mind, I guess.

hell no 😀 i was about 100% gpu usage with my cpu 😀 not 100% cpu usage 😀 but i understand what you meant 🙂

yeah .... i plan to play BF3 mostly .... if it will use gpus so good then no problem 😀

if cards will have good usage and i will get good fps .. then i don't care about 6 cores 🙂 .... yes i read about it that 6 core cpus will do better then 4 cores in bf3 i agree 🙂

so seems like 690 or 670 s in sli will be good idea on my i7 3770 .... and i will not waste my money 🙂

just get a good model 670 (like the gigabyte, asus or evga ftw) and you will easily run bf3 multi. you dont need sli for bf3 if you have a 670, unless youre running higher than 1080p.

But heck if your running 1080 i have 1 of my Gtx 680s for sale.. Stock with out touching a thing it boosts to 1280mhz.. single fastest out of the box gpu.

It seems like you are asking how well twin 670's will scale compared to a single card? Adding a second card will not double your benchmark score for 2 reasons. The first reason is that the second card will not scale 100% and the second reason is that the 3dmark overall score is not a pure GPU benchmark because a separate CPU score is including in the formula for the total score. Adding a second GPU does nothing for your CPU score.

i just ordered GTX 670 MSI power edition ? i did mistake ? 😀 my friend has ftw ... yes i know it's faster but i didn't liked temps on FTW version ^^ it was a bit hot .... a bit !

will be 670 msi power a lot slower then ftw edition ? or just 1-2% ya ? my friend has boost up to 1230 .... he got good chip 🙂

hokies83

sad , but .... even if i want ... i can't buy it from you 🙂 i live in Georgia country and sending card to me will cost you a lot of money 😀

lakedude

nah ... i know that sli scalling is like 160-180% or maybe even worse 🙂 depending on game an optimization ^^

Not get me wrong ! im not trying to tolling here ! i just was confused when my friends told me that i iwll have 60-65% gpu usage on i7 3770 ;/

one of them even tolme me that i7 3770 is not enough for GTX 680 lightning ;/

Power ed should be the better card..

hokies83

better performance or better cooling ? ^^ i guess cooling ^^

and one more question ... sorry for offtopic .. but does BF3 uses HT ? or it only uses 6 or 8 physical cores ^^ ?

zaydq

huh .... good to hear that 😀 thank you guys .. i was scared cause of friends 😀

im sure you all here have a lot more experience with hardware 😛 Thank you all

This... I run BF3 perfectly wiyh a GTX680 at 1440p. Just don´t use MSAA

felang

hope i will run with msaa on 1080p with no problem 😛 i wll not get constant 60 fps i know .. but at least 40-45 fps drops 😛
