Best gaming tower case?

Hi, I'm building myself a new gaming system and I been lookn for the best gaming tower. After reading reviews most have said to get the Thermaltake v8000, its a badass looking tower too. What do you guys think is the best gaming tower?

I've worked with one, they aren't great. If you use any large vid card (like any of the 6800s) you will have to snap the pci slot bracket to get it locked in. There are better cases out there than that.

I have the v5000a (i have a hardcanno control for all the fans)if you like to stow alot of wires and have total control over you fans and you plan on running dual video cards or OC a hot processor they are OK, after putting it together I would say that I would have bought it again but not if I was a control freak and did not want to spend more then 5 hours putting everything together. The V5000a had plenty of room and I like the placment of the fans and drive bays(you may want to get 90 degree SATA connectors though as the drive bays are near to the edge of the case panel. The two things that I did not like are the huge amount of wires I got with it they could have done that better and the clipless pci slots which don't work with PCI-e video cards(not really a big deal as they come out). I like its ablity to stay cool and it is quite for the amount of fans that it has, in fact my old amd makes more noise then this one does with extra fans. I would take the motherboard clips that they use and use regular standoffs that they include as they did not work the best for me one or 2 did not quite work right and was just as easy to use the screwdriver.

that is a dumb question. a better question would be, what are the best speakers for video recording, or what is the best mouse for watching dvds

yep, it's like when people ask if a faster HDD will impact gaming.

NO! ONLY LOAD TIMES DAMMIT! 😛

yeah ok, thanks for the burn u 2, now lets get back on track. If you were going to build a hardcore gaming tower, what case would u get?

Are you doing any water cooling or just air cooling? Do you want quiet or does noise not matter? with PSU or without? What's your budget?

I have the Thermaltake Tsunami and I love it, but it has the same tooless PCI mounting mechanism as the Armor - and this sucks... It's the worst feature of the case. I would get the CM Stacker if I were you.

whats wrong with the tool-less feature?

Its incompatable with a bunch of graphics cards, in that to get it working you either have to remove it or snap a piece of it off. And its just generally bad and not well designed.

Lian Li V1000 or the like
OR a CM Stacker

Depends on what you mean by a gaming case...If you mean a case that you can take to LAN parties the Coolermaster Stacker will be a hand full to move around.

Usually for a LAN box you want an aluminum mid-tower.

This Chenbro Gaming Bomb II is a really great box for LAN parties...Expensive but the build quality is impressive and rumor control mill has it that the thermal performance is quiet good...Just a bunch of money for a mid-tower in my opinion anyway.

What price range and features are you looking for...Might be able to get more recommendations if you would be more specific.

I'm still trying to figure out what makes a case a "gaming case," as opposed to, say, a mid-tower, SFF, or LAN-portable case. From what I can tell, there are no structural or functional qualifications so long as the exterior looks like it was designed by Liberace on a bender.

I have one and PCI lock works fine with 6800GT 😉

Great case and very easy to keep clean of wires.

Some photos of mine here!
